When you receive flowers already designed in a vase or other container, here's how to keep it looking fresh for as long as possible:

 

The arrangement should come with a package of flower food. Mix the flower food with cool water, following the instructions on the package. Then fill your arrangement container, saving the extra solution. If you keep your arrangement in a cool place (away from heat, appliances and direct sunlight) and keep the container filled with solution, your arrangement should last many days.

 

Remove each bloom as it ages. When the blooms fade, do not throw out your bouquet. Use the petals for pot pourri - or flowers, stems and leaves can be added to your compost or green bin. Containers can be used around the house, or return them to us in exchange for fresh flowers. The floral foam, broken up, makes excellent mulch in your garden as it holds moisture well.
