Last year, we had the privilege of working with the West Toronto Junction Historical Society as they celebrated the 100th anniversary of the amalgamation of the City of Toronto and the City of West Toronto. Here is a photo of our lovely Humberside models in their floral dresses.
The year the WTJHS is working with Humberside CI students and local artists to create two exciting projects. As part of the annual Humberside Hoopla, a brand-new, original theatrical production will be presented on June 3rd, called the Junction History Mash-up.
This should be fun! Neil Ross, who was the MC for our floral fashion show in 2008, will be hosting a fun look at Junction history through comedy, music and drama. It will be presented at the historic Lismer Hall in Humberside CI at 8 pm on Thursday, June 3rd.
Susan is preparing a very unique and artistic floral outfit for the show. Using history, drama and comedy as well, it will be a combination of the very old and very new… think Queen Victoria meets Beyonce!
The second project has been local artists and mentors working with selected Humberside students to create new visual art. Our own Cathy Thorne is one of the artists who have helped. An exhibition of their art will be on display at Wise Daughters Craft Market from June 5th to 30th.
