It’s prom and graduation time! What is the finishing touch for a well-dressed partygoer? The flowers, of course!
Our designers have been crafting beautiful corsages for young grads this week. The girls prefer wrist corsages, on either velcro or pearl bracelets. Some like a little bling, like tiny silver, gold or irridescent gems to make the corsage sparkle.
Here is a lovely corsage and boutonniere in white roses:
Don’t you love the green baubles from New Zealand in the boutonniere?
Let’s add some colour – here is a wrist corsage with yellow spray roses:
Note the white miniature cymbidium orchid blooms. Lucky it’s their time of year!
Back to white (it’s a favourite for every colour of dress). Here are some white spray roses in a wrist corsage:
These are white dendrobium orchid blooms with the spray roses, and the corsage is on a pearl wristlet. Ever so classy!
Can we do all dendrobim orchids? Of course we can!
This wrist corsage has a glittery silver ribbon. We have used Parvifolia eucalyptus with Italian ruscus for greens. The eucalyptus has a gentle, fresh fragrance.
Now we will look at some fabulous blue delphinium. Here is a boutonniere:
A deft touch of silver wire around the stem and over the flowers – simple and elegant! And instead of injuring someone with a boutonniere pin, we put a magnet attachment on the back.
And the corsage to match:
Almost makes you want to buy a beautiful blue dress to wear with the corsage!
Corsages and boutonnieres are like little jewels. The designers have to work with small, fragile blooms and make tiny movements to construct them. It’s exhausting work, but it’s so satisfying to see people come in and pick up their own decoration and exclaim about how pretty they are. And that’s what it’s all about.
