Helleborus and Gardenia… sounds like a cool name for a flower shop. If people could pronounce it!
We have seen Helleborus in the European design magazines every spring, and could never find the plant here. Now there is a grower in Ontario supplying “The Clock” (Ontario Flower Growers Co-operative) with these beautiful plants. The colour palette is soft greens. Have a look!
It appears to be a perennial plant that thrives in shady places (with a little sun) and flowers in early spring. We will have to take a couple home to plant in the garden!
Another beauty, shown here, is the Gardenia plant.
There is nothing that smells like a gardenia! So what if their blooms only last for a couple days? The scent fills a room and transports you somewhere beautiful. We take a walk by the plants often, just for the lift it gives us.
