BlogTO featured a beautiful photo essay this week.
Once, Concord Floral was a major grower of tea roses and sweetheart roses just north of Toronto. The impact of larger bloomed imported roses from Columbia and Ecuador resulted in the closing of the business. Like the author, I didn’t realize how huge the operation was. You could only see the driveway as you drove across Hwy 7, and it looked a little forbidding.
Now it is decaying, waiting for destruction and another copycat mall or something else to be built on the property. But see what beautiful photos Jonathan Castellino took of the crumbling greenhouses and infrastructure.
