Just north of Keele & Dundas, there are old, old silos (similar to grain elevators) that were built by St. Mary’s Cement in 1912. New condos are being built at the old Canadian Tire site across the tracks, and some silos have been torn down. But some remain, and intrepid photographer Jonathan Castellino of BlogTO recently explored them.
The article is called “Beneath the St Marys Cement Silos in the Junction.”
Eerie photos of the ruins of an earlier time, and worth a browse.
