Flower Delivery in Toronto

September 25, 2010 by Lynn Freeman

Most florists offer same-day delivery of your order if the order is placed by noon. We have found that in this era of instant gratification, we need more options. So Martin’s can offer you same-day delivery, next-day delivery, Rush or Direct delivery depending on your needs.

Our standard delivery charge of $12.95 applies to all orders with no time constraints (i.e. anytime between 9 & 5).  The next option is Rush delivery at a cost of $22.95. That is for orders delivered within a three-hour window – for example, by noon any day – or by 4 pm if the order is placed before 1 pm the same day. Our last option is for the immediate need – Direct delivery takes place within two hours for $34.95. That is when a designer drops everything and creates your arrangement, then a courier picks up the flowers and takes them directly to your recipient. For $34.95 you move to the head of the line!

We are blessed to have had our driver Mike working for us for almost thirty years. He covers the Junction, Bloor West Village and Etobicoke areas, as well as picking up fresh flowers from our wholesalers. Mike knows where the traffic flows. Whenever one of us is going to an unknown place, we ask Mike for the most traffic-free route. He knows every funeral home in the GTA and how to get there efficiently.

For areas further away, we have a delivery service that picks up our arrangements for the day between 11 and noon. Their standard delivery time is by 4 pm for businesses and by 5:30 for residences. When times are really busy, their hours will extend as needed. At Christmas, Valentine’s  and Mother’s Day, they are on the road before 9 am.  This service covers a huge area – all of Toronto, as well as Ajax, Whitby, Mississauga, Burlington, Oakville, Brampton, Woodbridge, Thornhill, even Port Hope and Milton. One independent driver does downtown Toronto delivery only.

The Rush and Direct orders are delivered by a courier service. Their range is smaller than the delivery service, covering all of Toronto, North York, Mississauga and Thornhill.

Because Martin’s belongs to FTD, we have the option of sending your order to another florist who is closer to the delivery address. This is a great alternative, especially for last minute delivery to a funeral home beyond our area. When we transfer the order to another florist, we still guarantee your satisfaction, although items chosen from the Martin’s Exclusives line will not be exactly as pictured. The delivery fee will usually be between $12.95 and $19.95.

Our goal with delivery is to provide prompt, courteous service that presents your gift wrapped flowers to a smiling recipient. We are always striving to perfect this aspect of the business.
