In the quieter summer months, we have had some fun trying new techniques for bridal bouquets. Inspired by Rene van Rems‘ new book, Rene’s Bouquets for Brides, we created these stylish designs:
This took quite some time, as lily petals were glued in concentric circles to form one large “flower.” The handle is made of bear grass, and wrapped with bands of pearls.
Next, we took a hand-made bouquet holder that Susan created in a tutorial with Per Benjamin. Crafted of yarn in hot pink and orange, it was a great starting point. Lana created her design with yellow callas, orange carnations and hot pink nerine lilies.
Then Katie used the same base, turned it upside down and created this design:
Another day, another creation! This time, we used golden yellow cymbidium orchids and beautiful burgundy celosia that perfectly matched the throat in the cymbids. Look at this beautiful palette!
Rather than leave out the Groom, we made him a matching boutonniere:
Floral design is always advancing. With fabulous designers leading the way, we’re always trying to upgrade our skills and embrace current design. Lucky for us, it’s also interesting and a lot of fun!
