We often get inquiries about floor plants for the office. It seems that with autumn approaching, and the daylight hours getting shorter, more inquiries are coming in lately.
If you’re looking for plants that purify the air then check out this article from our site. There are photos of commonly available plants that will help your environment stay healthier.
Aside from absorbing building material chemicals, tropical plants are valuable in making a sterile environment more esthetically pleasing. A place where living things can grow is a friendlier place. They don’t require an intense amount of care, but ten minutes of attention once a week. Give them a good drink, cut off any yellow or brown leaves and dust them once in a while. That’s it!
Look at these two Dracaena plants in our shop. I love the different shades of green in them:
On the left we have the Lemon Lime variety, and on the right is Limelight. There are so many varieties of Dracaena, and they are all pretty hardy. I would say the most indestructible is the Janet Craig dracaena. Here’s a photo of one, compliments of our greenhouse supplier:
Can you say “Aspidistra” without thinking of Gracie Fields? This plant is another hardy one, with dark green leaves. It does not like direct sunlight – sun will burn the leaves yellow or brown. It is not as readily available as the Janet Craig, and is a little more expensive.
Here are a couple taller plants we have in stock:
These plants are almost five feet high, and sell for $75 plus the decorative pot cover. Both of them like to have some light – normal office lighting should be fine, or place them near a window (but out of direct sunlight). Sometimes they are referred to as Dragon Tree and Corn Plant.
We usually have four or five plants in the store, and our supplier can bring fresh plants within a week of our order. So if you are thinking about greening up your office, be sure to consider these tropical beauties and give us a call.
