June is a traditional month for weddings, and this year Martin’s had more than usual.
One bride came to us at the last minute, only two weeks before the wedding date. Her florist had developed pneumonia and wouldn’t be able to fulfill the order. Our Susan met with the bride, her mother and mother-in-law and quickly drew up plans for the bouquets and other florals.
The look was to be “whimsical garden style.” Lots of flowing ribbons added romance. June is peony season, and our bride loved those.
Here is Valentyna’s bouquet:
The satin and lace ribbons look so pretty! The flowers included peonies, hydrangea, asilbe, viburnum, lysianthus and freesia – even some blue delphinium.
Here’s a closer look:
Now check out the bridesmaids’ bouquets. The peonies and stocks co-ordinate with the shades of their dresses, ranging from magenta to plum. Again, we have the lace and satin ribbon treatment, and the loose, garden look.
The ceremony and reception were held at the beautiful Ancaster Mill. The ceremony was held outdoors on their Outdoor Chapel. Situated in a lovely country setting beside a small stream, the chapel has a white arch for the formal ceremony. We decorated the arch with two of these:
More fantastic peonies, hydrangeas, stocks and ribbons!
Here is a corsage and boutonniere:
The corsage is pink spray roses, and it’s on a pearl- style bracelet. The boutonniere is white freesia.
After the ceremony, it’s time for the reception. The mill restaurant uses family-style long tables, so our bride had clusters of three cylinder vases placed in groupings on the tables. Here is one set:
Super romantic! Everything co-ordinates so beautifully. This wedding was oh-so-pretty.
We’re wishing Evan and Valentyna many happy years together.
